• Location: Santa Rosa, CA 95405 (Sonoma Valley)
• Position: Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient PreOp / PACU (Locum Tenens Travel Nurse / Travel RN)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens Travel
• Setting: Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery – PreOp and PACU (Phase I & II)
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• End Date: June 22, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 5x8-hour (8:30am–5:00pm, Mon–Fri; occasional 7:00am–3:30pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Patient Population: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Size: PreOp area and PACU phase I & II; 4 rooms; daily census ~10
• Float: May float to Main PACU or affiliate hospitals as needed

Key Qualifications (Required)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (CA) — pending CA license accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in PreOp, PACU, Ambulatory Surgery, or comparable perioperative setting
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Experience with Epic electronic health record preferred (Epic charting)
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Willingness to float to other units or affiliate facilities as needed
• Must be able to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps

Responsibilities – Perioperative / PACU RN

• Provide high-quality nursing care in Outpatient PreOp and PACU phases I & II for ambulatory surgery patients
• Conduct pre-op assessments, patient education, medication administration, and clear discharge instructions
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from a variety of outpatient surgical procedures (general, ortho, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, vascular, etc.)
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation, pain management, and post-epidural care following facility protocols
• Obtain/interpret lab values and 12-lead EKG/ECG; manage isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (anesthesia, surgeons, surgical techs, case management) and perform follow-up phone calls as needed
• Float to Main PACU or affiliate hospitals as required; support surge/throughput in ambulatory surgery
