Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Oncology | Travel RN – Washington, DC (20007)

- Setting: Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center (chemotherapy infusion, biotherapy, IV therapy)
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract — Travel RN / Travel Nursing
- Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2010 - $2120 per week
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in oncology infusion or outpatient oncology (chemotherapy administration)
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required (Travel RN experience preferred)
- Active DC RN license (must be in hand at time of application)
- Current BLS (American Heart Association)
- ONS / ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Experience in community hospital or outpatient infusion center settings
Preferred Qualifications
- Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and inpatient oncology experience
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Phlebotomy skills and central line / port / PICC line competence
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality infusion therapy for oncology patients in an outpatient setting
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and IV medications, including IV push narcotic agents
- Monitor and manage oncologic emergencies and symptoms (anaphylaxis, tumor lysis syndrome, sepsis)
- Implement and maintain isolation and neutropenic precautions
- Perform central line, port, and PICC line care, including blood draws and line maintenance
- Provide patient education and symptom management guidance for chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed (cross-cover and teamwork expected)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—physicians, pharmacists, social work, and case management—to ensure comprehensive oncology care
