Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM required
- Experience caring for laboring patients and newborns immediately after delivery
- Experience circulating and recovering C-sections preferred
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a travel assignment setting
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Support vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&Cs, cerclage procedures, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Care for the newborn immediately after delivery
- Assist with circulating and recovery duties for C-section patients
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and unit staff to support smooth patient flow
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols and patient care standards
- Float as needed per unit policy, with traveler assignments prioritized first
