Travel OR RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,400 - $2,520 (Travel Nurse / Travel Registered Nurse)
- Location: Fortuna, CA 95540 — Humboldt County, Northern California
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 8-hour shifts (07:00 – 15:30)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse, Contract Nurse)
- Setting: Ambulatory Operating Room / Surgical Services (Perioperative Nursing)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) RN experience (perioperative, circulating, or scrub nurse experience)
- Valid California RN license in hand
- BLS certification (AHA) required; additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (Epic EHR) preferred
- Ability and willingness to float to affiliate/sister hospitals as needed
- Willingness to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room across a variety of surgical specialties, including thoracic surgery and pediatric cases
- Prepare patients for surgery, assist surgeons as a scrub or circulating nurse during procedures, and monitor patient recovery
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EHR / Epic charting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (surgeons, anesthesiology, PACU staff) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to sister facilities as required to support patient care needs and staffing demands
- Participate in orientation, competency validation, and annual training modules
