• Location: Santa Rosa, CA 95405 (Sonoma County)
• Setting: Acute Care Facility – Outpatient PreOp & PACU (Phase I & II)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract – Travel Nursing Job
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• End Date: June 22, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 5x8-Hour Days (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Schedule: No weekends, no holidays, no call required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,040 - $2,140 per week
• Patient Population: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit: Outpatient PreOp, PACU Phase I & II
• Daily Census: 10 patients
• Float: May float to Main PACU or affiliate hospitals as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (CA) accepted; pending CA license considered
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) or PACU experience – perioperative/surgical nurse experience preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required
• Experience with Epic EMR / charting system preferred (Epic skills a plus)
• Ability to provide two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last three years
• Willingness to float to sister facilities if needed
• Availability to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative and post-anesthesia nursing care in the Operating Room, PreOp, and PACU settings
• Perform pre-operative assessments, patient education, medication administration, and surgical readiness checks
• Monitor patients during Phase I and Phase II recovery, including pain assessment, airway management, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation, reversal agents, and recovery protocols
• Interpret and communicate lab values; review patient history and physicals to support surgical planning
• Manage pediatric and adult patients across surgical specialties (ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Plastics, Urology, Vascular, etc.)
• Follow facility protocols for isolation precautions, malignant hyperthermia, and post-epidural management
• Document care accurately using Epic EMR and maintain timely, compliant charting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary surgical teams, provide discharge instructions, and conduct post-op follow-up calls
• Maintain compliance with all facility policies, safety standards, and perioperative best practices
