Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job
Experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in a welcoming Southeast Michigan community. This acute care Registered Nurse role is ideal for a flexible medical-surgical nurse who is comfortable floating and supporting a broad adult patient population across urology, orthopedics, neurology, family medicine, short stay surgical and medical units, oncology, pulmonary, and GI. Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1960-$2280
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Location: Southeast Michigan
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12 Hour Nights
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 7/27/2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 8 weeks)
- Call Requirement: None
- Float Requirement: Yes, this is a float position
- Patient Ratios: 1:3 on days, 1:4 on nights and weekends
- Charting System: EPIC experience required
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Previous experience floating in a Med/Surg acute care environment required for first-time travelers
- Current Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Strong clinical adaptability and ability to work across multiple medical-surgical patient populations
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients across multiple specialty areas
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in an acute care hospital setting
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols
- Monitor patient status and communicate changes promptly to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Float to assigned units as needed while maintaining safe, effective patient care
- Document all care accurately and efficiently in the EPIC electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and support staff to promote positive patient outcomes
- Support patient and family education related to treatment plans, recovery, and discharge needs
