Travel Nursing Job Details

- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Schedule: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; every other weekend required, including Saturday and Sunday weekend shifts
- Orientation: 1–2 shifts with a preceptor
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC
Travel RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute-care Registered Nurse experience
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in West Virginia
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to successfully complete a cardiac rhythm examination
- Strong telemetry nursing skills, including the ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Previous MedSurg and telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Ability to float among multiple acute-care units and care for patients within your scope of practice
- Flexibility to work weekends and participate in the holiday rotation
Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in MedSurg and telemetry units
- Float among designated acute-care units based on daily patient-care needs, with assignments coordinated before the start of each shift
- Care for patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, post-cardiac catheterization needs, pneumonia, COPD, chronic renal disease, orthopedic conditions, and oncology diagnoses
- Continuously monitor patients and accurately interpret telemetry rhythms using Philips monitoring equipment
- Administer medications, perform nursing assessments, implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, nursing assistants, respiratory therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Manage patients requiring CPAP or BiPAP in collaboration with respiratory therapy
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation in EPIC
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care while maintaining appropriate patient ratios based on acuity and unit assignment
