Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Virginia or a Compact State (required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry nursing experience or telemetry RN experience
- BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
- Proven ability to interpret telemetry/ECG strips and respond to changes in cardiac status
- Comfortable working night shift and adapting to a fast-paced acute care environment
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, and critical thinking skills
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients requiring cardiac telemetry and acute medical care
- Interpret telemetry data/ECG strips and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and hospital policy
- Provide comprehensive documentation of patient care in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, case management) to coordinate care and ensure positive patient outcomes
- Provide patient and family education, support, and discharge teaching as needed
