Required Qualifications – Cardiac Stepdown RN (Travel)
- Minimum 18 months recent Cardiac Stepdown or Neuro Stepdown RN experience (travel or permanent experience accepted)
- Active PERMANENT Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license in hand (Ohio travel RN)
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA or American Red Cross), ACLS, NIHSS
- One supervisory reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty
- COVID-19 and seasonal Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
Core Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown / Neuro Stepdown RN
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac and neuro stepdown patients, including monitoring and early recognition of clinical changes
- Assess patient condition, interpret telemetry/ECG rhythms, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and evidence-based treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (MDs, APNs, RTs, PT/OT, case management) to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Participate in orientation, competency validation (ECG rhythm recognition, safeMedicate), and ongoing professional development
- Support unit staffing needs, including working at least every other holiday as required by facility policy
