Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Travel Nursing Contract in Elmira, NY
Join a dedicated cardiac stepdown and telemetry nursing team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Elmira, New York. Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and medical-surgical support during 12-hour night shifts. Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
- Location: Elmira, New York
- Healthcare Unit: Cardiac stepdown and telemetry medical-surgical unit
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday commitment
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New York
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; cardiac stepdown, telemetry nursing, or medical-surgical RN experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition
- Completion of required competency assessments, including rhythm interpretation and pharmacology testing
- Current clinical documentation and health screening records as required for assignment onboarding
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, teamwork, and time-management skills
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients during 12-hour night shifts
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and overall patient status
- Recognize and promptly communicate signs of clinical deterioration, arrhythmia, or dysrhythmia
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established orders and professional nursing standards
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate treatment and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and recovery plans
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support a safe, respectful patient-care environment
