Job Details
- Location: Leonardtown, MD — St. Mary's County (20650)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710 – $1,800 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Setting: Intermediate Care / Cardiac Stepdown / PCU (Telemetry)
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts (06:45 – 19:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required (schedule directed by unit needs)
- Float: Required to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed
- Scrubs: Caribbean blue (not provided)
Qualifications & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state (MD license preferred)
- Minimum 2 years recent PCU/IMC/Stepdown or cardiac telemetry nursing experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Experience with bedside cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, IV infusions, and non-titratable drips
- Skills in central/peripheral line care, PCA and feeding tube management, and basic ventilator/respiratory collaboration preferred
- Ability to float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a Cardiac Stepdown/IMC/PCU setting
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms on telemetry, respond to rhythm changes, and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
- Perform bedside monitoring for up to 8 patients using cardiac monitoring devices, ultrasound IV access, and lift equipment
- Administer medications, manage central and peripheral lines, and provide care for chest tubes, PCA infusions, and feeding tubes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, and Social Services for coordinated patient care
- Float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as operationally required (typical ratios 1:5–1:6)
- Maintain accurate documentation, uphold infection control standards, and follow isolation precautions
