Certified Surgical Technologist Job Details

- Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 10-hour days
- Shift Hours: Approximately 6:45 a.m.–5:15 p.m.

- On-Call Requirement: Weekday overnight coverage, weekend coverage, and holiday coverage as scheduled
- Holiday Availability: Candidates must be available to cover at least one designated holiday period during the assignment
Operating Room Surgical Technologist Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in an operating room or perioperative setting
- Current NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist certification required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, sterile technique, infection prevention, and operating room safety practices
- Ability to work scheduled shifts, on-call coverage, weekends, and required holiday assignments
Certified Surgical Technologist Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by gathering equipment, instruments, supplies, and implants
- Maintain a sterile field and follow infection prevention and operating room safety standards
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and first assistants during surgical procedures
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and support efficient operating room workflow
- Perform surgical counts, including sponges, sharps, and instruments, according to established protocols
- Assist with operating room turnover, equipment maintenance, specimen handling, and postoperative cleanup
- Provide dependable support during scheduled, urgent, and on-call surgical cases
