Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Active Physician Assistant license (national and Georgia state) – PA-C credential preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in an ICU or critical care setting
  • Proficiency in ICU procedures, including central and arterial line insertions (case logs required for credentialing)
  • Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate effectively with intensivists, attending MDs, and multidisciplinary ICU teams
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred; strong documentation and order entry skills required

Responsibilities

  • Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU (typical census 10–15 patients per APP) with attending physician support
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and intensivists to develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments, interpret diagnostic testing, and communicate findings clearly with ICU nursing staff and consultants
  • Complete thorough documentation including H&Ps, consults, event/follow-up notes, procedure notes, and orders in the EMR
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift and contribute to coordinated patient care decisions
  • Perform invasive ICU procedures, including central line and arterial line insertions, in accordance with hospital credentialing and case-log requirements
