Job Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license required
- Recent critical care nursing or CVICU experience preferred
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Open heart surgery experience preferred
- Experience pulling sheaths preferred
- CRRT experience highly preferred
- Experience in a Level II trauma hospital or higher preferred
- Ability to titrate drips in a high-acuity ICU environment
- Strong cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver expert nursing care to CVICU patients with complex cardiovascular needs
- Monitor and manage post-PCI, post-bypass, and CHF patients
- Titrate drips and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and the care team
- Interpret telemetry strips and support safe, timely clinical decision-making
- Assist with advanced cardiac procedures and post-procedure recovery care
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the charting system
- Maintain a calm, professional presence in a fast-paced ICU setting
