- Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, approximately 4 shifts per week
- Shift Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Call Coverage: Rotational call coverage, including occasional 24-hour Saturday or Sunday call
- Healthcare Setting: On-site cardiovascular operating room

CVOR Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Illinois
- At least 3 years of verifiable cardiovascular operating room or cardiothoracic operating room experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting robotic surgery procedures
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to work 10-hour day shifts and participate in a rotating call schedule
- Strong collaboration, communication, and critical-thinking skills in a high-acuity perioperative environment
CVOR RN Responsibilities
- Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Function effectively as a circulator and/or scrub nurse according to unit needs and clinical competency
- Support robotic cardiac and surgical procedures using safe, evidence-based nursing practices
- Prepare the cardiovascular operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures
- Maintain strict sterile technique and promote patient safety throughout the perioperative experience
- Monitor patient status, communicate changes promptly, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the broader heart team
- Assist with surgical counts, specimen handling, clinical documentation, and operating room turnover
- Participate in scheduled rotational call coverage, including occasional weekend call
