Emergency Medicine Physician Job Details

• Opportunity: 13-week locum tenens physician assignment, beginning November 2026
• Location: DuBois, Pennsylvania, with emergency department coverage at multiple regional locations
• Healthcare setting: Hospital emergency departments, including community and critical access settings
• Patient population: Patients of all ages
• Estimated weekly pay: $7,870–$8,430
• Shifts: Shift times and lengths vary by site; 12-hour shifts are common, with some 8-hour and select 24-hour options. Day and night emergency medicine coverage may be available.
• Coverage expectations: A minimum of 4–6 shifts per month, with shifts scheduled in blocks; flexibility to work at multiple locations is required.

Emergency Medicine Physician Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of emergency medicine experience
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine; ABEM certification is required at certain sites. Board-certified or board-eligible physicians may be considered at select locations.
• Active Pennsylvania medical license strongly preferred; physicians with IMLC eligibility may be considered.
• Current DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Experience using Cerner or another electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Willingness to provide locum tenens coverage across multiple locations and share availability dates during the application process

Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions across all age groups.
• Deliver timely, patient-centered emergency care in departments with varying patient volumes, staffing models, and resources.
• At applicable critical access sites, respond to codes, stroke alerts, and medical-surgical rapid response needs.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and other hospital staff.
• Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and care provided in Cerner.
