Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in California
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department or acute-care setting
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced emergency department
- Adaptability to travel nursing assignments, night shifts, and changing patient-care needs
- Successful completion of facility-required compliance and credentialing processes
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent medical conditions
- Perform focused patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and promptly communicate changes to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional standards
- Assist with emergency procedures, patient stabilization, and preparation for admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely emergency care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and completely
- Support a safe, respectful, and patient-centered environment throughout each shift
