Key Qualifications / Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on Workday Financials and Workday Payroll configuration ownership (lead-level experience preferred)
  • Active Workday FIN certifications and Workday Payroll certification — please confirm current certification status and module coverage
  • Recent, demonstrable Workday Payroll configuration experience: pay groups, earnings/deductions, calculation rules, retro/parallel testing, and payroll controls
  • Recent Workday Financials experience: FDM/worktag governance, accounting rules/journals, AP/Expenses, Projects, Grants, and close-readiness controls
  • Proven experience owning Payroll-to-GL end-to-end (costing/mapping, reconciliation, controls, and issue triage)
  • Experience with Workday integrations and tools (Workday Studio, EIB, middleware platforms) and enterprise reporting (Workday Reporting, Prism Analytics)
  • Strong governance mindset: change control, release impact assessment, documentation standards, and audit/controls awareness
  • Excellent stakeholder leadership across Finance, Payroll, and IT; comfortable working with implementation partners and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end functional design and configuration for Workday Financials and Workday Payroll (requirements, configuration, testing strategy, deployment readiness)
  • Design and configure Workday Financials modules including Core Financials, Accounting Center, Expenses, Projects, Payroll, and Grants Management
  • Own Workday Payroll support through accurate configuration, compliant processing, integrated reconciliations, and governance for payroll controls
  • Oversee complex Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, and middleware; manage integration design, build, and testing
  • Lead system audits, performance tuning, data quality governance, and compliance activities within Workday Financials
  • Develop advanced security frameworks, role-based access models, and audit controls for Workday security and access governance
  • Define enterprise reporting standards leveraging Workday Reporting and Prism Analytics; validate reporting accuracy and month-end close readiness
  • Manage technical aspects of Workday upgrades: configuration updates, regression testing, validation of new features, and release impact analysis
  • Facilitate leadership briefings and present technical strategy, project milestones, and ROI analyses to senior stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with Finance end-user communities and external Workday partners to drive adoption and continuous improvement
  • Champion user adoption, training, and optimization initiatives for Workday Financials and Payroll across the enterprise
  • Provide strategic mentorship and guidance to Workday Financials analysts, administrators, and cross-functional ERP teams
