- Weekly Estimated Pay: $8,860 – $9,340
- Shift Duration: 16-hour days; typical coverage includes 10-hour day shifts required and 24-hour call shifts preferred
- Hours Per Week: 32
- Case Mix / Case Types: General anesthesia, Orthopedic (high-volume), Dental, Urology, ENT
- Charting / EMR: Epic
- Lodging / Housing Stipend: $126 daily
- Car Rental / Mileage Stipend: $250 weekly
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Board certification or fellowship in Anesthesiology (board-certified anesthesiologist preferred)
- Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency
- Current Physician license in Pennsylvania, or eligibility to obtain PA medical license (PA license preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of post-residency anesthesiology experience; preference for providers with high-volume orthopedic anesthesia experience
- Proficiency with peripheral nerve blocks and regional anesthesia techniques
- Experience supervising CRNAs and working collaboratively in an anesthesia care team (MD:CRNA ratio typically 1:2 to 1:4)
Responsibilities
- Provide safe medical management of patients undergoing anesthesia for surgery and procedures across general, ortho, dental, urology, and ENT cases
- Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations, obtain/verify informed consent, and discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
- Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia; monitor physiologic status and intervene clinically as needed
- Perform regional and peripheral nerve blocks for orthopedic and other cases as appropriate
- Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs to ensure high-quality perioperative care
- Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department and participate in department communication and quality initiatives
- Complete accurate documentation in Epic and support perioperative throughput and patient safety
