Job Requirements – Anesthesiologist (Qualifications)
- Minimum 2 years of recent anesthesiology experience, preferably at tertiary care centers or high-acuity hospital ORs
- Board Certified in Anesthesiology (Board Eligible considered if fellowship trained)
- Active California State Medical License required
- Valid DEA license with Schedule 2/2n
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in the operating room; experience supervising or collaborating with CRNAs preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required (EPIC charting, perioperative documentation)
- COVID-19 vaccine and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Regional anesthesia skills strongly preferred (regional blocks, peripheral nerve blocks), but not required
Responsibilities – Perioperative Care and Anesthesia
- Provide safe, effective anesthesia care for a broad mix of general and regional surgical cases (excluding cardiac, liver transplant, and neuro cases)
- Float between sister facilities across San Francisco and the Bay Area, covering both high-acuity inpatient centers and ambulatory surgery centers
- Work independently in the operating room and occasionally supervise or collaborate with CRNAs and anesthesia care teams
- Deliver comprehensive perioperative care to adults and adolescents, including pre-op assessment, intraoperative management, and post-anesthesia recovery coordination
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC EMR to support clinical continuity, billing, and compliance
- Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes, OR throughput, and on-time starts
- Ensure compliance with credentialing, privileging, and hospital policies for locum tenens physicians
