- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Schedule: Daytime shifts beginning at 7:00 AM
- Practice Environment: General anesthesia cases with a balance of supervised and solo work
- Charting: Paper charting, with pre- and post-op orders entered electronically
Job Requirements
- Active physician license required
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Completion of an approved residency in Anesthesia
- Board-eligible or board-certified anesthesiologist preferred
- ECFMG and FLEX required, as applicable
- At least 1 year of anesthesia experience required
- Comfortable managing patients through the full perioperative anesthesia process
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative anesthesia team
- Must be able to adhere to scheduled shift times and call expectations
Responsibilities
- Assist in directing and coordinating anesthesia department activities
- Provide medical management for patients undergoing surgery and other procedures
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and review patient readiness
- Obtain and verify patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
- Induce, maintain, and emerge patients safely from anesthesia
- Monitor physiological status throughout procedures
- Deliver timely clinical intervention when needed
- Support case coverage across general anesthesia services
- Work within established guidelines for supervised and independent cases
