Home Health Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Petersburg, VA
Travel RN job in Petersburg, Virginia: provide skilled home health nursing on a weekday schedule, with estimated pay of $2,120–$2,230 per week.
Bring your nursing expertise into the home health setting as a Registered Nurse (RN) supporting patients across Petersburg and surrounding Virginia communities. Provide skilled, compassionate care through admissions, recertifications, resumption-of-care visits, discharges, and routine home visits. This approximately 22-week travel nursing contract offers a Monday–Friday schedule and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives throughout the greater Petersburg area.
Home Health Travel RN Job Details
- Location: Petersburg, Virginia (ZIP 23805), offers a welcoming home base for this community-focused role, with patient visits across nearby communities including Colonial Heights, Chester, Chesterfield, Richmond, Sandston, Henrico, and Midlothian
- Healthcare setting: Home health
- Contract: Travel assignment from October 26, 2026, to March 29, 2027 (approximately 22 weeks)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday; office hours are 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Shift duration: 8 hours
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekly estimated pay: $2,120–$2,230
- On-call rotation: One week and weekend per month; occasional coverage may include additional nearby areas
- Mileage: Reimbursed between patient visits, from the first patient to the last
- Productivity expectation: 30 points
Home Health RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of nursing experience, including home health experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Virginia
- Current CPR certification
- Experience using Homecare Homebase (HCHB)
- Strong patient assessment skills, flexibility, teamwork, and professionalism
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation and travel to patients throughout the coverage area
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Complete skilled nursing admissions, recertifications, resumption-of-care visits, discharges, and routine home health patient visits
- Assess patients’ health status, identify care needs, and provide appropriate skilled nursing interventions in the home
- Document patient visits and coordinate care using Homecare Homebase (HCHB)
- Participate in weekly case conferences and collaborate with the care team to support continuity of care
- Provide dependable coverage across assigned Virginia communities and fulfill scheduled on-call responsibilities
