Home Health Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Contract – Virginia Beach & Norfolk, VA

Home Health RN Job Details
- Location: Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120–$2,230
- Contract Dates: October 26, 2026–January 29, 2027
- Contract Duration: Approximately 14 weeks
- Openings: 2
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; five 8-hour shifts per week
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours guaranteed
- On-Call Requirement: One weekday each week and every fourth weekend
- Healthcare Setting: Home health and in-home skilled nursing
- Shift Duration: 8 hours
- Additional Information: Mileage between patient visits is reimbursed according to assignment guidelines
Travel Nurse and Home Health RN Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, including home health nursing experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to provide independent patient care in home settings and travel throughout assigned coverage areas
- Homecare Homebase experience preferred
- Professional scrubs in any color
Home Health Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive admissions and initial patient assessments in the home setting
- Perform routine skilled nursing visits and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs
- Manage patient discharges, recertifications, and ongoing clinical documentation
- Provide wound care, including wound VAC management
- Collect and process ordered laboratory specimens
- Provide Foley catheter care and other skilled nursing interventions
- Educate patients and caregivers about medications, treatments, disease management, and safety
- Support medication education and management while monitoring patient response
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Participate in the assigned weekday and weekend home health on-call rotation
