Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Contract – 12-Hour Night Shifts in Colchester, Vermont
Join a 16-week hospice RN travel assignment in Colchester, Vermont, providing compassionate end-of-life care on 12-hour night shifts. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
- Location: Colchester, Vermont

- End Date: February 28, 2027
- Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
- Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
- Scheduling: No block scheduling
- Healthcare Setting: Hospice and end-of-life respite care
Hospice Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- At least 3 years of recent hospice nursing experience
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years
- Strong typing skills and comfort with narrative-heavy electronic medical records
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex symptoms and apply advanced clinical judgment
- Experience with hospice, palliative, or end-of-life care preferred
- Reliable transportation is required; a personal vehicle or rental vehicle is recommended
- All work history gaps longer than 90 days must be explained during the application process
Hospice Nursing Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to individuals receiving hospice and end-of-life services
- Assess and manage complex symptoms while maintaining a high level of critical thinking
- Administer and manage medications through intravenous, subcutaneous, oral, sublingual, rectal, and other appropriate routes
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding disease progression, comfort measures, medications, and the plan of care
- Initiate and participate in goals-of-care discussions with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary team to promote comfort, dignity, and quality of life
