Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a travel contract in a busy hospital setting in Saint Charles, MO. This travel CNA role focuses on bedside patient care, food and nutrition support, documentation, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. Ideal candidates have strong clinical experience, night shift availability, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-required credentials)
• Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience in acute care or hospital settings
• BLS certification (required unless otherwise specified by state)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong commitment to patient safety, HIPAA compliance, and Joint Commission standards
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and food & nutrition departments

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine bedside patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RNs)
• Assist with patient hygiene, mobility, feeding, and basic clinical documentation
• Support Food & Nutrition services: assist patients with menu selections, ensure meals align with prescribed diets, and communicate diet changes
• Update and validate diet changes, menu labeling, and dietary documentation per current diet orders
• Perform clerical tasks in the Food & Nutrition office as needed (faxing, answering phones, filing, photocopying)
• Assist trayline, food service aides, or catering staff as requested to support meal delivery and patient nutrition
• Adhere to facility safety protocols, infection control, HIPAA, and Joint Commission guidelines
• Attend required in-services and departmental meetings; maintain proper office and menu supply levels
• Communicate patient care and food service issues to the appropriate department staff; perform other duties as requested
