Job Requirements
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- BLS certification (AHA preferred; required unless otherwise specified by state)
- Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
- Familiarity with HIPAA and Joint Commission standards
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), hygiene, mobility, and safe patient handling
- Assist with bedside nursing tasks and accurately document care provided in the patient chart
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the charge nurse or RN
- Support patient meal service: assist patients with menu selections, accommodate prescribed diets and dietary restrictions, and deliver/collect trays as needed
- Update and validate diet changes and menu labeling in the patient menu system when required
- Communicate patient care and food service issues to the appropriate department
- Perform clerical assignments in the Food & Nutrition office and maintain proper levels of office and menu supplies as needed
- Participate in in-services, departmental meetings, and follow facility policies and safety protocols
- Adhere to HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines and perform other duties as requested
