Medical Laboratory Technician Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Laboratory Technician
- Valid MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) credential
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Ability to work independently and accurately during overnight laboratory shifts
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to laboratory quality and patient safety
Medical Laboratory Technician Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing and specimen processing in an acute care hospital environment
- Collect, identify, prepare, and analyze specimens according to established laboratory procedures
- Operate laboratory equipment and document test results accurately in the Epic system
- Maintain quality control standards and follow laboratory safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements
- Communicate critical or abnormal findings promptly to appropriate clinical team members
- Support efficient hospital laboratory operations throughout scheduled overnight shifts
