- Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Hospital / Acute Care, Medical-Surgical unit
- Job Type: 13-week travel contract (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (18:45 – 07:15) – Night Shift CNA
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $590 – $640
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required to float to other units as needed
Minimum Qualifications (CNA Requirements)
- Active Illinois CNA license (required)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum 1 year recent acute care hospital experience within the last 3 years preferred
- Experience with electronic charting systems / documentation
- Ability to float to other units and work every other weekend
- First-time travelers and local CNAs are encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities – Medical Surgical CNA
- Provide direct patient care and clinical support to adult patients in a Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) unit
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): ambulation, feeding, turning, repositioning, toileting, and bathing
- Change linens, provide skin care, assist with pressure injury prevention and basic wound support
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs (BP, pulse, respirations, temperature) and report changes to nursing staff
- Perform point-of-care glucose testing and document results per policy
- Assist with oxygen tanks, pulse oximetry, safe patient transfers, and use of patient lifts
- Maintain infection control standards, including appropriate PPE use and adherence to isolation precautions
- Communicate patient status and changes to RN/charge nurse; participate in team-based acute care workflow
- Float to other units as required to support hospital staffing needs
