Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid and current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Ohio (OTR/L or state license)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist; inpatient rehab or neurorehabilitation experience highly desired
- Strong clinical assessment skills, therapeutic intervention planning, and documentation proficiency (electronic medical records experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient, family, and interdisciplinary team collaboration
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, develop, and administer OT treatment programs consistent with current standards, regulations, and evidence-based practice
- Assess patients' functional status, ADLs, cognition, and mobility to develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Provide skilled interventions for inpatient rehab and neuro patients, including adaptive equipment recommendations and therapeutic activities
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care coordination, and discharge planning to support optimal patient outcomes
- Complete timely and accurate documentation according to department policies and regulatory requirements
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT/COTA students as assigned
- Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to facility guidelines and infection control protocols
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality patient care
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional development in occupational therapy
