Pharmacist Job Details

• Location: Fishersville, VA 22939 (Virginia pharmacy jobs)
• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital (255 staffed beds)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel pharmacist contract
• Start Date: February 9, 2026
• Shifts: Rotating 8-hour day (07:00 – 15:30) and evening (14:00 – 22:30) shifts; consistent evening shifts available
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Coverage: Every 3-4 weeks (set schedule possible for evening shifts)
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
• Charting System: Meditech EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,490 - $2,670

Pharmacist Qualifications

• PharmD or RPh degree (licensed pharmacist)
• Active Pharmacy license in Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of recent hospital pharmacy experience (3-5 years preferred)
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• Community hospital pharmacy experience required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Fit testing required (must be clean-shaven unless exempted by provider letter)
• ZERO-TOLERANCE policy for THC
• Strong clinical pharmacy skills in anticoagulation therapy, compounding, IV medications, therapeutic drug monitoring, and high-alert medications

Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders and oversee IV room operations
• Manage automated dispensing systems and pharmacy workflows
• Ensure safe and accurate medication preparation and distribution
• Provide clinical dosing, therapeutic drug monitoring, and medication management for adult and geriatric patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and social services
• Participate in weekend coverage and rotating shifts as scheduled
• Maintain compliance with hospital pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements
