Hospital Pharmacist (Travel) – Lander, WY. 13-week travel contract (May 4, 2026 – August 2, 2026) for an inpatient hospital pharmacist role; active Wyoming Board of Pharmacy license and AHA BLS required. Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active Wyoming Board of Pharmacy license (must be submitted with application)
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (must be submitted with application)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent hospital pharmacy or inpatient clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to enter a minimum of 40 medication orders per four-hour shift (medication order entry / electronic health record experience)
  • Strong knowledge of adult and geriatric patient populations and acute care pharmacy practices
  • Experience with sterile compounding / aseptic techniques and controlled substance management is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies according to physician medication orders (sterile and non-sterile compounding where applicable)
  • Interpret medication orders and provide clinical pharmacy oversight to ensure safe, appropriate drug therapy for hospitalized patients (medication reconciliation, adverse reaction monitoring)
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and provide professional guidance and training to technical support staff
  • Support clinical, quality management, and pharmacy education programs within the hospital (performance improvement, drug information services)
  • Consult with administration and medical staff on medication use policy, regulatory compliance, and risk management
  • Monitor patient profiles to prevent therapeutic duplication, drug interactions, and adverse drug events
  • Ensure security of pharmacy operations and controlled substances in accordance with hospital policy and state regulations
  • Prepare unit-of-use dosages and verify technician-prepared products prior to release
  • Generate required pharmacy reports and perform backup procedures as requested (inventory, documentation)
