Travel Physical Therapist – Outpatient Rehabilitation | 13-Week Contract in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine
Join a collaborative rehabilitation team as a Travel Physical Therapist providing primarily outpatient care in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. This 13-week physical therapy contract offers a consistent weekday schedule, one-on-one patient care, and the opportunity to support a diverse adult and school-aged population. Travel Physical Therapist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,140–$2,290
- Healthcare Setting: Primarily outpatient rehabilitation within a hospital environment
- Location: Dover-Foxcroft, Maine
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks, ending January 30, 2027
- Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week; generally Monday–Friday
- Shifts per Week: Typically 5
- Shift Duration: 12 Hour Rotating; applicable schedule times may include 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Weekend and Call Requirements: No weekend rotation and no call required
- Patient Volume: Approximately 8–10 patients per day
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs
- Parking: Free on-site parking
Physical Therapist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of outpatient Physical Therapy experience
- Current Maine Physical Therapist license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or higher
- Experience with manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and patient education
- Ability to educate patients on adaptive equipment, including walkers, canes, and crutches
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and independent patient-care skills
- Willingness to provide occasional coverage for emergency department consultations, day-surgery patients, or inpatient care when needed
Physical Therapist Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat primarily adult and school-aged patients in an outpatient rehabilitation setting
- Provide individualized, one-on-one physical therapy during 60-minute evaluations and treatment sessions
- Treat patients recovering from orthopedic and spinal surgeries, work injuries, neurological imbalance, and age-related conditions
- Develop, implement, and modify evidence-based physical therapy treatment plans
- Apply manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and other appropriate rehabilitation techniques
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safe mobility, adaptive equipment, and injury prevention
- Document evaluations, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately in Cerner
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team and other healthcare professionals to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
- Participate in department orientation and training based on clinical experience and comfort level
