Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU Travel Assignment in Richland, WA

  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts; day and night coverage
  • Shifts: 3 shifts per week
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Orientation: 40 hours
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
  • Float Requirement: May float internally between departments as needed
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,010 - $2,160

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required; NICU-focused experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in a Level III or IV NICU required
  • Adult ICU or Neuro Trauma ICU experience highly preferred
  • Active Washington Respiratory Therapist license in hand at time of submission
  • CRT or RRT credential required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
  • Experience with Epic charting required
  • Strong clinical skills in neonatal respiratory care and critical care support
  • Must be flexible and comfortable supporting multiple departments as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care for neonatal and high-acuity patients in a hospital environment
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal airway management
  • Support ventilator management, including high-frequency ventilation and pressure/volume ventilation
  • Perform and assist with ABGs, suctioning, extubation, and intubation support
  • Deliver therapies such as CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, nitric oxide, and pulmonary hygiene support
  • Manage tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, and airway troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
  • Document accurately in Epic and follow established clinical protocols and unit workflows
  • Remain adaptable to internal float expectations and changing unit needs
