Ultrasound Technologist Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer experience required
- Hospital experience preferred in a diagnostic imaging or medical imaging department
- Current applicable state licensure and/or registration as required
- ARDMS certification or equivalent credential preferred
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging procedures, patient safety standards, and infection prevention practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and provide clear instructions to support comfort and cooperation
- Operate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Review images for quality, accuracy, and completeness prior to submission for interpretation
- Document patient information and procedure details accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and care teams to support timely diagnosis and treatment
- Follow hospital compliance standards, patient safety guidelines, and infection control procedures at all times
