ICU RN Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ICU specialty preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Ability to pass all onboarding health and competency screenings (drug screen, immunizations, and specialty-specific competency testing)
  • Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to ICU patients with a variety of complex medical conditions
  • Continuously monitor, assess, and document patient status and progress using clinical judgment
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
  • Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic ICU environment in accordance with hospital policies and critical care protocols
  • Participate in unit meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives to support best practices in critical care nursing
