Job Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed PTA, preferably in long-term care or inpatient rehabilitation settings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of APTA guidelines, state practice acts, professional code of conduct, and ethics
  • Strong clinical documentation and communication skills (experience with EMR preferred)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising Physical Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team
  • Patient-centered approach with skills in manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, mobility training, and assistive devices

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment interventions under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
  • Deliver inpatient and long-term care physical therapy services, including manual therapy, gait training, therapeutic exercise, transfers, and use of assistive devices
  • Assess patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist to modify treatment plans as needed
  • Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and facility requirements
  • Educate and counsel patients, families, and caregivers about physical disorders, home programs, and safe mobility strategies
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, training, and quality improvement activities
  • Support and supervise students or aides when assigned, following the supervising Physical Therapist’s guidance
  • Ensure compliance with all state and facility regulatory and clinical practice requirements
