Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent full-time equivalent nursing experience, completed within the last 3 years
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse license valid in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience is strongly preferred
- High-risk Labor & Delivery or high-risk obstetric nursing experience is preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related degree is preferred
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and promptly identify changes requiring intervention
- Support patients and families through labor, delivery, and high-risk obstetric situations
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional standards
- Collaborate with obstetric providers, neonatal teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Assist with emergency responses and neonatal stabilization as appropriate to the clinical setting
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and outcomes
- Promote patient education, comfort, dignity, and evidence-based care throughout the birth experience
