Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift | Claremore, Oklahoma
Travel Labor and Delivery RN opportunity in Claremore, Oklahoma, offering a 13-week night-shift contract, competitive weekly pay, and comprehensive maternal-newborn nursing experience. Join a dedicated obstetric healthcare team caring for laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns in a supportive community hospital setting.
In this rewarding travel nursing role, you will provide care across labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn services. The unit averages approximately 10 patients per day and includes eight beds. First-time travelers are welcome to apply and can strengthen their clinical expertise while enjoying the welcoming community and northeastern Oklahoma setting of Claremore, located within easy reach of the Tulsa metropolitan area.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,900
- Location: Claremore, Oklahoma
- Specialty: Labor and Delivery Nursing
- Shift: Night shift, 6:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m.
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; weekends required
- Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
- Assignment: 13-week travel nursing contract

- Patient Population: Neonates, adolescents, and adults
- Local Eligibility: Candidates within 75 miles of the assignment location are not eligible
Labor and Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Active Oklahoma or compact Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
- At least 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Current AWHONN Intermediate certification
- Previous Epic charting experience
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and in a fast-paced obstetric healthcare setting
- ACLS and STABLE certifications preferred
- Previous charge nurse and community hospital experience preferred
- Comfort caring for laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Registered Nurse care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
- Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, high-risk deliveries, and newborn stabilization
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring when indicated
- Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, preterm labor, preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and other obstetric complications
- Administer and monitor medications and therapies, including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, anticoagulation, and pain management interventions
- Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, metabolic screening, cord care, and neonatal resuscitation as needed
- Provide breastfeeding and lactation support, discharge education, car seat education, and newborn-care teaching to families
- Manage IVs, Foley catheters, epidural-related care, blood products, and other treatments within scope of practice
- Accurately document patient care in Epic and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Float to comparable units within the Registered Nurse’s scope of practice when needed
