Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a licensable behavioral sciences discipline (e.g., MSW) per Alaska regulations
  • Current Alaska licensure required (LSW). Must begin initial application for temporary QAP certification within 30 days of hire; full QAP process required if extended/permanent
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience; psychiatric/behavioral health or crisis experience preferred
  • BLS certification required (within 60 days of hire)
  • TEAM/BERT certification required (within 90 days of hire)
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric crisis evaluations, risk and suicide assessments, diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning across the service continuum
  • Develop safety plans, provide referrals, and coordinate transitions of care and community resources
  • Deliver individual, group, conjoint, and family counseling using a brief, solution-focused therapy model
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, mid-level providers, clinicians, and community partners to deliver evidence-based behavioral health care
  • Perform case management, discharge planning, and follow-up coordination for psychiatric emergency patients
  • Meet documentation standards for timeliness and accuracy using Meditech EMR and comply with hospital and CMS requirements
  • Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and cross-disciplinary teams to enhance patient care
  • May be required to float to other behavioral health areas as patient volume and service needs dictate
