Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Night shift travel nursing job in Baltimore, MD (21215). Immediate 14-week LTAC float contract for experienced LPNs with Cerner charting and ventilator/tracheostomy skills.

Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,350 - $1,420 (competitive travel LPN pay)

  • Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Hospital Float — LTAC nurse role
  • Contract Duration: 14 weeks (Start: 4/27/2026 – End: 8/3/2026)
  • Shift: Night shift; 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30) — LPN night shift
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
  • Orientation: 24 hours (Tuesday–Friday, day shift)

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of LPN clinical experience (LTAC, subacute, or rehab experience preferred)
  • Valid Maryland LPN license or Compact LPN license required at time of submission
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience required (travel LPN experience)
  • Experience with Cerner electronic charting system required
  • Professional references required
  • Ability to float between hospital units (LTAC, memory care, subacute rehab, pulmonary/ventilator units)
  • Must attend all orientation days and adhere to facility attendance/time policies
  • Zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences; must work every other holiday as scheduled

Responsibilities

  • Float between Burks, halls (subacute rehab), and household units delivering patient-centered LPN care
  • Provide direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in long-term acute care, memory care, subacute rehab, pulmonary, and ventilator settings
  • Assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions, and contribute to individualized care plans to improve patient outcomes
  • Perform wound care, tracheostomy and ventilator support tasks within LPN scope, medication administration, and routine vital sign monitoring
  • Use strong organizational and leadership skills to manage complex patient assignments and prioritize care on night shift
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition; communicate status updates to RN/MD and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy)
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EHR/charting
  • Provide compassionate, dementia-aware care by recognizing routines, preferences, and needs in memory care and long-term patients
  • Adhere strictly to facility attendance and timekeeping policies
