Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific requirements apply)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience (1 year ICU experience preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient education skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary care coordination
• Preferred: Experience in LTAC or with complex respiratory patients (tracheostomy/ventilator care) and prior travel nursing experience

Key Responsibilities (LTAC / Travel RN)

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from admission to support safe transitions of care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner per facility policies and EHR best practices
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Promote patient and employee safety, adhering to hospital guidelines and safety policies
• Participate in team conferences and contribute to a positive, efficient work environment
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education relevant to LTAC nursing and travel RN roles
