  • Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (32 beds)
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/27/2026, End: 7/27/2026)
  • Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (18:30 – 07:00)
  • Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours/week)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts within each 6-week period
  • Float Requirement: Yes, to like units within scope
  • Scrub Color: Any (no hospital logo)
  • Documentation System: EPIC

Job Requirements – Registered Nurse / Travel Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Mexico NM or Compact). Pending accepted if obtained prior to start.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical nursing / acute care experience)
  • BLS certification required
  • CPI certification preferred
  • Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
  • First-time travelers accepted (travel nursing welcome)
  • Local travelers not accepted (must live outside 50-mile radius)

Responsibilities – Med/Surg RN (Night Shift)

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 32-bed Med/Surg unit (medical-surgical care, acute care management)
  • Administer medications and treatments, including blood product administration, heparin, insulin, and oxygen therapy
  • Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
  • Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and feeding tube care
  • Implement isolation precautions and appropriate PPE protocols
  • Float to similar units as needed based on facility requirements
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC (electronic health record experience valued)
