Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 – $1,540
• Location: Amarillo, TX 79106 (Amarillo healthcare / Texas Panhandle travel nurse)
• Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (10 beds) – medical-surgical nursing
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30); options for 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts available
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48, depending on shift selection
• Start Date: 4/27/2026
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Float: To units of equal or lesser acuity as needed

Top Qualifications / Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred (medical-surgical nurse)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact licenses accepted where applicable)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last 6 months) preferred
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse requirement; locals not accepted)
• Comfortable managing a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and peripheral line care/management

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 10-bed Med/Surg unit
• Utilize Epic EMR for accurate, timely documentation and charting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
• Float to units of equal or lesser acuity as needed while maintaining standards of care
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital policies
• Participate in unit orientation and complete required onsite modules, including 20 hours of onsite orientation
