• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse / Medical-Surgical RN
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana 46845 (Fort Wayne nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/3/2026)
• Setting: General Medical & Surgical Units – Central Registry / Float (large hospital, 600+ beds)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130 (travel nurse pay)
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (3:00 AM – 3:00 PM); includes ~3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications – Med/Surg RN / Travel Nurse Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) experience
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg experience at a large hospital (600+ beds)
• Active Indiana RN license or multistate compact RN license
• Current BLS (AHA required)
• Experience with Epic charting / Epic EHR preferred
• Ability to float to other medical units as needed (central registry/float pool)

Key Responsibilities – Medical-Surgical Nursing

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including chronic illness, infections, neurological and behavioral health considerations
• Perform thorough assessments, develop and implement care plans, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
• Use Epic EHR for documentation and communication; operate IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding pumps/tubes, and manage heparin and insulin drips
• Assist with and support procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgical cases
• Float to medical units based on patient acuity and unit staffing needs (Central Registry/Float responsibilities)
• Complete Jump Start orientation including hospital orientation, nursing orientation, and Epic training as provided
