Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Travel Nursing Job in Zanesville, Ohio
Join a collaborative hospital-based nursing team in Zanesville, Ohio, as a Med/Surg Travel Registered Nurse (RN) on a 13-week night shift assignment. Care for adult medical-surgical and respiratory patients while supporting telemetry, stepdown, and specialty units in a welcoming eastern Ohio community.
Travel Nursing Job Details

- Work Setting: On-site hospital environment with occasional floating between medical-surgical units
- Location: Zanesville, Ohio, a welcoming community known for scenic surroundings, local arts and culture, and convenient access to outdoor recreation in eastern Ohio
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- At least 3 years of current or recent Telemetry and/or Stepdown nursing experience
- Strong ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and read telemetry; telemetry competency will be evaluated during orientation
- Current Epic electronic medical record proficiency; independent Epic experience is required
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
- Adaptability and willingness to float among multiple medical-surgical specialties as needed
Med/Surg Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical and respiratory patients
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate clinical concerns to the interdisciplinary care team
- Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to cardiac changes
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional standards
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and update individualized plans of care
- Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning
- Float to other medical-surgical areas, including wound care, stroke, oncology, cardiac, observation, and emergency department/medical-surgical overflow units, when needed
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, ancillary staff, and other members of the care team to support positive patient outcomes
