Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Job in Bel Air, Maryland

Join a dynamic inpatient oncology telemetry unit in Bel Air, MD, and deliver high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced travel nursing assignment.

  • Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts; every other weekend required

  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,920 - $2,020
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2 on nights; 5 on days, 6 on nights, and 4 on weekends per unit guidelines
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
  • Orientation: 14 hours

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in Maryland or a Compact state at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient oncology experience
  • Telemetry experience and ability to pass a telemetry competency exam
  • Current BLS and NIHSS required
  • ACLS and chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Experience with Epic charting required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • CPI certification may be required for compliance
  • Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for oncology patients with telemetry needs
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, chemotherapy, and blood products according to policy and best practice
  • Support patients with ports, central lines, PICC lines, wound care, and other complex care needs
  • Assess and manage symptoms related to cancer treatment, including neutropenia, pain, nausea, and fatigue
  • Educate patients and families while promoting comfort, safety, and dignity
  • Float within scope as needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams
