Job Requirements

  • Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (permanent or travel) — strong med-surg and telemetry background required
  • Active and permanent Ohio RN license or Compact State license in hand (Ohio RN / Compact RN)
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA or American Red Cross accepted)
  • One supervisory reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in specialty required
  • Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation — cardiac monitoring / telemetry competency expected
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Must be able to work at least every other holiday during contract

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit—med-surg RN responsibilities with telemetry monitoring
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, perform telemetry monitoring, administer medications, and complete focused and comprehensive assessments
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, RRT, pharmacy, case management) to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Float as needed to similar units (J1-2, J33, and ED) caring for similar patient populations
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in accordance with hospital policies and EMR requirements
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing training, including required assessments and modules
