16-week Travel Med/Surg Telemetry RN (Night) in Columbus, Ohio. Provide oncology-focused acute care in a modern hospital while advancing your travel nursing career.

Join a dynamic team in Columbus, Ohio as a Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse caring for adult and geriatric oncology patients. This 16-week travel RN contract offers hands-on experience with telemetry monitoring, chemotherapy symptom management, and complex medical-surgical care in a state-of-the-art facility near The Ohio State University and downtown Columbus.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license: compact RN or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years recent RN experience, with at least 1 year in current specialty (Med/Surg, telemetry or oncology preferred)
  • BCLS certification required
  • EPIC electronic health record experience required
  • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Ability and willingness to float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed
  • Two professional references required (one from manager/director or formal leadership)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
  • Compliance with Ohio fingerprinting process upon contract signing
  • Oncology RN experience and prior travel nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to oncology and medical-surgical patients including chemotherapy symptom management and soft tissue malignancy care
  • Monitor and interpret continuous cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
  • Assess and manage comorbidities, prioritize infection prevention and fall risk protocols
  • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and respond to clinical changes
  • Access and manage ports, central lines, and PICC lines; start and maintain IVs; administer blood products
  • Support procedures including chest tube assistance and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
  • Use clinical equipment such as GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
  • Float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed and support unit staffing needs
