Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Columbus, Ohio
Join a 13-week Med/Surg Tele travel nursing assignment in Columbus, Ohio, and provide high-quality acute care to adult and geriatric patients in a dynamic mixed-acuity hospital setting. Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Assignment Type: 13-week Med/Surg Tele travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Floating: May be required to float to other units as needed
- Orientation: 24 hours
Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele registered nursing experience
- Active RN license in hand, either a compact license or an Ohio state license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Recent experience using Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in a mixed-acuity acute care setting
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Ability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting within established timelines
Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric Med/Surg Tele patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias while recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
- Manage oxygen therapy, including nasal cannula, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP
- Administer blood products, IV medications, insulin protocols, and non-titrated cardiac drips as ordered
- Provide care for central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, and wounds
- Care for patients with burns, surgical wounds, wound vacs, renal failure, CVA, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries
- Support specialized treatments such as burn dressings, flap checks, continuous bladder irrigation, and leech therapy
- Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
- Participate in rapid response and code team processes while maintaining safe isolation and infection-control practices
- Float within the organization as needed while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care
