Med/Surg Tele RN travel nursing job in Middletown, CT, offering a 13-week acute-care assignment, $2,020–$2,130 weekly pay, and three 12-hour night shifts.

Travel RN Job Details
- Location: Middletown, Connecticut
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 22, 2026
- Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and designated holidays required
- Healthcare Setting: 26-bed medical-surgical unit serving a broad range of general medical patients
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Staffing Support: Nurse aides, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, hospitalist coverage, and IV support available
Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Connecticut
- At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Recent Epic documentation experience required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and required holidays
- Availability to work up to 48 hours when needed
- Must be comfortable working without a blocked schedule and with limited time-off requests during the assignment
- Must live more than 50 miles from the assignment location in accordance with travel assignment requirements
Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with a variety of diagnoses and acuity levels
- Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition
- Use Epic to maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
- Collaborate with providers, nurse aides, respiratory therapists, pharmacy staff, IV support, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Support patient education, discharge planning, safety initiatives, and continuity of care
- Respond appropriately to changes in patient status and escalate concerns according to clinical protocols
- Promote a positive patient experience while maintaining professional nursing standards during overnight shifts
